DELUSIONS - Pragmatic Realism [Kindle Edition]

BOOK REVIEW
BY MICHAEL BEAS

Religion and science take center stage in "DELUSIONS - Pragmatic Realism." I have read other amazing works from Stanislaw Kapuscinski and was in search of yet another one his epic books to sink my teeth into over the weekend. Just like the others, I was swept away in a wonderful fashion.

The most intriguing question that I found to resonate most when reading this book are the arguments surrounding God and the Space around us, what is really our true reality?

There are two sides to every situation in life. From the science perspective we find theories that have been taught about over the ages and yet still have not come into reality. Also from a religious standpoint discussions dealing with the existence of God, what beliefs are true and not are being told to us time and time again. At the end of the day, the more we search for answers, the closer we are to finding the truth. Far and away the questions discussed in this book will keep you pondering the true essence of life well after you are done reading.

Author Stanislaw Kapuscinski has proven yet again to be an intellectual master. "DELUSIONS - Pragmatic Realism" is a well thought out, well-written masterpiece filled with enough facts that bring both Science and Religion into account. The book is also written tactfully, with enough sarcasm and humor that made it entertaining and above all informative. It will surely last the same time.

In short Stanislaw Kapuscinski exposes DELUSIONS on both sides of the coin. I will definitely look for more books from one of the best authors in the writing world today!

Heartbreak? How To Heal Your Broken Heart With Self-Therapy

Book Review
By Michael Beas

Heartbreak is one of those books that catch your attention from the very get go. Truth be told the book cover appealed to me when I was searching for some eBooks to distract the mind. I read the title, “Heartbreak? How To Heal Your Broken Heart With Self-Therapy” and thought, why not take a chance reading something that might actually be able helpful in my life. Food for the soul I guess you can say is was in search for.

In short this book is for difficult cases of heartbreak. It works, however it requires quite a commitment to follow through. Chapter 4 is really the meat of the book and I feel is the best chapter to focus on and help all who read this book. The greatest part about this book is that it is based on facts and not just some story that really has no baring on improving you overall emotional state of being.

I learned quite a bit about myself, and above all how I can get through some of the “negative thought loops” that I face everyday.

4 Stars and definitely food for the soul you don’t want to miss out on.

Unleash Your Psychic Power
by Embrosewyn Tazkuvel

Book Review
by Michael Beas

Dive into the supernatural realm of Author Embrosewyn Tazkuvel in his amazing book, “Unleash Your Psychic Power.”

I must admit that at first I was a little hesitant to read this book, mainly because there are so many imposters who write on the subject of Psychic Powers and Abilities that really do not respect the teachings surrounding this in-depth subject matter. With that said, I took a chance with this read with the hopes of both learning more about this fascinating world we all live and are connected in. The book cover is amazing and inspired me to buy the eBook.

From the very first line, to the very last sentence I was engulfed in this fantastic book that I spent the better half of three days reading. In total the book has 350 pages. Some might find it to long, but I found it was just the right length. It was captivating, flowed perfectly and was written in a way that all readers could truly appreciate its value and teachings.

Sometimes in life it is a little hard to look and think outside the box at different ideas and teachings that one is not used to or familiar with. Offence is then raised and incisiveness arises when in-fact all we had to do as individuals is think out side the box and open ourselves to the world around us. If you do, I guarantee that “Unleash Your Psychic Power,” will not only be epic for you, it will also be a classic read that you will be able to enjoy over and over.

I for one learned a great deal and encourage those who are reading this review to invest in this book will simply will not put down.

5 Stars for Embrosewyn Tazkuvel and can’t wait to read more.

C. J. Sumner

Book Review
By Michael Beas

Romantic, Suspenseful, Witty, Thrilling and all out cliffhanger that takes you deep in the heart of the Italian Mob.

What else can be said about this amazing book that I simply could not put down from start to finish. From the very get go, “Cater to the Mob” by C.J.Sumner took over my night in this amazing tale that is fit for the movies.

In this classic Mob story, Don Carlo together with a flamboyant young woman set the stage for a non-stop thrill ride that involves a life saving event, an FBI investigation and some twists of fate that develop into a well thought out Romance. It will definitely stand the test of time and engulf your imagination.

The end of the story is grand in scale and left me wanting more from C. J. Sumner. I hope the next book is written soon!

Finally a Zombie story with a new twist! While I am always down for a Zombie end of day apocalypse type book I can say that I’m happy to see a new storyline that is not a forgone conclusion. Tom and his brother Gary really set the stage in this suspenseful thrill ride that lead you deep into the heart of a zombie slave trade. There, Tom is separated from his brother and encounters a half zombie woman who he has a connection with. I wont let any spoilers but it is defiantly a must read.

5 Stars for Plagued: The Midamerica Zombie Half-Breed Experiment and a must read for all!

The Rivalry for Alsatia
By Justice Shepherd and Reggit Dogger

Book Review
Michael Beas

Get your glasses ready to get your fill of some good ale and an amazing read that will take you deep into the heart of Alsatia.

This novel make for an amazing read that definitely puts a twist on your typical fantasy novel, which I must add is extremely rare and a relief to finally find. Throughout the storyline the reader will discover a different realm that embarks and fills imagination with Romance, a touch of Sci-Fi, Gallantry and Action. Mix all these in a large caldron and you will find the end result to be a wonderful well-written novel called The Rivalry of Alsatia.

What I like best about this novel is that the authors do not give away the whole plot all at once, but rather develop the story well and allow it to flow near to perfection. This allows the reader to truly appreciate each and every aspect of the characters that put your sensory motors on overdrive with vivid descriptions of landscapes and scenery that made me feel as if I was there with the characters. Catalina and others take you on a journey that encompasses many ethical questions that leave you wondering what would you do in their stead.

If I had to cretique something and be picky I would have to say that some of the character names were a bit hard to pronounce. But then again this is a fantasy novel and well perhaps that’s just me being picky.

It took me 2 days of read time to finish this novel. While good ale was served I would say that The Rivalry of Alsatia went down like a smooth martini that let me wanting more.

5 Stars!

Roan: The Tales of Conor Archer
By E.R. Barr

Book Review
By Michael Beas

E. R. Barr’s mythical world comes to life in a grand and epic scale that will take you deep into heart of a legendary past. The Wisconsin River has never seemed so intriguing until you meet the main character Conor Archer, a young man from the streets of Chicago who embarks on a Journey to Tinker’s Grove.

It is there in Tinker’s Grove that the worlds of Ireland and American collage in an amazing story that will take your breath away. Classic myths, a tight knit Irish Catholic town and various villains’ combine and come together to form a very well thought out storyline that will keep you up all night reading.

Little-by-little as the story progresses Conor begins to gain a deeper understanding of who he is and above all what the cards of destiny have in store for him. It is then that he begins to truly understand the power contained in he spectacular gifts he possesses.

I was definitely hooked from the very start of the story that flowed and was edited beautifully. Overall this amazing tale will certainly have a positive impact on many readers. The ending tees up a sequel and makes you want more!

5 Stars for Author E. R. Barr.

The Stepsister
By Trisha Grace

Book Review
By Michael Beas

The evil stepsister Elena Hart sets the stage as the main character in this mystery and suspense novel that will take your breath away.

Life changing events spark a unique storyline that take the reader from a not-so-perfect past of Elena Hart, into a life change of course 13 years into the future. It is there, 13 years later the story begins to take shape and begins to unravel its amazing plot of suspense and all out intrigue.

In “The Stepsister” Author Trisha Grace does a spectacular job of creating a great storyline that embeds and conveys a deeper message. That message for me was how God has worked in my life and how I was able to make changes that allowed me to become a better person. The best part of this book I found to be that the story in many ways is realistic and not some fairy tale that could never take shape.

The story itself has some editorial issues that could have been fixed with careful editing, but it does not take away from the message, plot or theme of the book. This is a great novel that took me away. Total read time was 2 days.

I rate 4 stars and cant wait to read what Trish Grace writes next.

The First
by Kipjo Ewers

Book Review
by Michael Beas

Suspenseful thrill ride that will take you into the heart of an all out adventure! The storyline is unique and full of surprises that paint a fantastical world deep into the future world.

Some of the reviews focus on some of the grammatical errors found, but in reality there are not to many and at least for me it did not take away from the storyline of the novel. With that said the story has a great plot and does flow well. It also is written in a very fast pace manner and is filled with non-stop action that will captivate you from the get go.

I am a big fan of the Superhero Gene and enjoyed the fact that Author, Kipjo Ewers developed Sophia Dennison as one of the main characters. You simply do not see enough female main character these days it is was a delight to finally see one take a strong solid role. I don’t want to give away any “spoilers,” but will say that you really have to read the book to fully get a grasp as to if and when she will come back to life. This is definitely a gripping tale that had me on edge the entire time. I read it in only three days and kept me up during the midnight hours.

In closing give this a 4 star rating and wait to read what Author; Kipjo Ewers comes up with next.

by Robert Bolognese and Melinda Bolognese

Book Review
by Michael Beas

Join Marbella and her family as they embark on a fun filled trip to Italy titled “Roaming with the Romans: When in Rome.”

This is a fun filled adventure that takes the reader to the streets of Rome in a majestic way far above any tour guides recommendations. If you are planning a trip to Italy then this is this is must buy.

Far and away “Roaming with the Romans: When in Rome,” paints a vivid picture of the beauty found in Italy as seen through the eyes of a young girl. The book is also filled with great illustrations that help lay the foundation of the storyline and plot.

Having personally visited Rome, I can say that the descriptions of the places described, such as the coliseum and the delicious flavors of so many spectacular Gelatos is dead on accurate. Without a doubt they left me hungry and wanting to visit one of my favorite places on earth, Rome Italy.

I read this short story in one night. Over all it was a fun read that I would definitely share with my two twin boys and wife during our next trip to Italy.

5 stars and cant wait to see if Marbella and her family take another trip.

Relationship Roulette.....Single, Married, Divorced,Now What?
by Theodore Lovelace

Book Review
By Michael Beas

"Relationship Roulette.....Single, Married, Divorced, Now What?” Again are some of the main topics the discussed in Relationship Roulette. Author Theodore Lovelace has created an in depth book that touches on the heart of what we as humans experience throughout our relationships in life.

The main characters of this book are Chris and Amanda, who start off dating and then venture through different scenarios that depict the ups and downs of a relationship.  Throughout the book I constantly looked into my own past relationships and Marriage trying to find validity for the points the writer touched upon. After a careful self-evaluation of my own self, I have to say that it was really on target. In many waysRelationship Roulette was an eye opener for how I should better improve my own relationship with my spouse so that we can better communicate with each other and above all work out the differences in our matrimony.

This is a very well written, well-versed self-help book that will really help anyone who wants to understand the true nature of what it takes to be in a relationship. In order for it to be truly adventitious you will have to, like myself, self evaluate who you are and above all (were) are you currently in life with your partner. If you do, I guarantee it will help you in some way so that you don’t fall into the trap of having to play Relationship Roulette.

On a side note the pictures inside the book are linked to very helpful websites. While I did not check them all out, the few I did were extremely helpful.

All and all this one in my book gets 5 stars.

The Admiral of Bolivia
By Chief John J. Mandeville

Fun and fantastic with many twists and turns. The Admiral is hear and he is going to take you from NYC into the heart of Bolivia where you will visit one of the worlds most amazing Natural Wonders, Lake Titicaca. But wait there is much in John J. Mandeville’s epic story.

In this exciting tale the reader will get to meet main character Mike, the Rooter who is taken to Bolivia by his dashing wife, Mary. Then Mike’s five other dynamic firehouse friends enter the picture to make this fictional story come alive with adventure, and thrills that’s nonstop till the end.

Throughout the story the author unveils a wide portfolio of different plots and schemes that mixes well with both the current and past political world of Bolivian politics.

John J. Mandeville does an exceptional job of mixing a fun filled storyline with a tense subject matter that rings home for many Bolivian’s. He does this with carefully plotted humor and pacts it with action filled turns the likes of seen only on “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” albeit with a Bronx type twist.

Having personally traveled, lived and am married to a Bolivian native I found myself going back in time to some of the best moments of my life. I can vouch that this story is truly accurate to the settings of La Paz, and Bolivia, which is a definite necessity when writing about another county and its culture.

The very heart of the story and how it is written is well done. It flows perfectly with ease allowing the reader to engage effortlessly into the plot from the very beginning.

Unexpectedly I found myself reading about submarines, secret agents, car chases, gunfights and even a strange kind of romance that the Pope himself has to be mentioned. Onward and forward the pages turned during the wee hours of the morning. I read the The Admiral of Bolivia in less then 2 days, it was a great read that I would rate up with 4 stars and would encourage everyone to check out.

Crystal Ships
By Richard S. Sharp

Having not grown up in this era “Crystal Ships” definitely took me back to a place in history that’s time span spread out over 20 years. As the pages turned I found myself reading about some of the most influential figures of all time, namely John F Kennedy, Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy that for me are some of the make this novel both unique and epic in scale.

It seems that people in this era, from all walks of life and from all countries had a very difficult time adapting to the constant changes that were set in motion by the leaders that tried to make difference in our world. Crystal Ships, allows the reader to get a different vantage point that take you to places such as Vietnam, South Africa, Spain, and US Countries such as Boston, San Francisco and New Orleans to name a few.

The story is extremely well written and well researched. The personable characters, each with their own unique stories, makes the story come to life as they take you back in time where our world was in constant change. Some might arguee for the better or some for the worst. Richard S. Sharp paint a great picture through a carefully chosen plot that allows you as the reader to grow with the characters and be part of a challenging time in American History.

If I had to critique something on a negative standpoint it would be the bad language used. For me personally it was a bit harsh, but then again the author was placing us in the era and mindset of the characters.

In closing Crystal Ships a 5 Star Rating. Author Richard S. Sharp has done an outstanding job and hope to read from him in the future.

Future Prometheus
By J. M. Erickson

Enter a world of the past and future where the reader partakes on a science fiction thriller the keeps your eyes glued to your reading device until the ride is over.

Future Prometheus is a gripping story that deals with many important and fascinating dilemmas that has the reader question ethical / moral standpoints in a very nonchalant sort of way. One of the main points that I like about this book is that it keeps you constantly on edge, and when you really take a step back and enter Author J. M. Erickson’s imaginary world you find yourself thinking that perhaps the events that transpire in this novel really could happen in our not so distant future.

A small tidbit of what to expect when reading this fast paced novel are war, poverty, illness, cryogenic sleep, a top-secret government plot that hides the clues of a long lost past.

Truly this is a thrill ride you will not want to miss. If you like World War Z by Max Brooks (minus the Zombies) this is the book for you. If you like past and future Science Fiction novels and movies filled with twists and turns, then this is the book for you.

I read this book in a day and a half, mainly because I could not put it down.

In short I recommend this book to all readers who have a vivid imagination of what the future can hold not only for us, but also for our children and our children’s children.  I encourage all of you to embark on this 160-year journey into the heart of Antarctica. If your courageous enough, this is where you will find the key to the future of mankind.

On a scale of 0 – 5 with 5 being the best, this would rate up as a strong 4 pushing a 5.

The first few chapters started off to be a little confusing as to what was going on and who was who. Then out of nowhere the novel takes off the moment the writer transitions the plot into the future starting with the bitter cold of Antarctica where a violent storm will literally take your breath away. Definitely a classic that will stand the test of time and one that I will enjoy reading again and again.

Cubbie Blue and His Dog Dot
By Randa Handler
Book Review by Michael Beas

This is a great book that children from all ages will enjoy time and time again. Cubbie Blue and His Dog Dot stumble upon an unexpected adventure that takes them far, far away from their enchanted home land of Baltar. In the new world they stumble upon they see humans as giants, which is of course because they are only 3 feet tall, and are forced to make difficult decisions with the hopes of finding a way back home.

What will they do? Which way will they go? Whom will they meet on our planet Earth? These are the questions that left me turning the pages eagerly hoping to find out what will happen with this little boy and his pet dog.

I should also mention that I had the opportunity to read this story with my twin 2 ½ year old sons. Both of them were attentive, response and engaged in the story, all qualities to look for when purchasing a children’s book.

The writer also uses a wonderful and imaginative storyline that teaches children the importance of obedience, respect, the value of friendship, and Problem Solving. All of which are extremely important for child’s personal development.

The illustrations are original, filled with vibrant with colors, and are very well drawn that helps in captivating the child mind into an amazing new world that is easy to fall in love with.

In Cubbie Blue and His Dog, the love a parent is seen; a community comes together in a time of need; there is adventure, action and a well established plot that builds up leaving the reader wanting more. My boys and I found ourselves cheering for the people of Baltar and Cubbie to find his way home.

This is a children’s book that I simply can’t wait to see what happens next. Ranging from a scale of 0 -5, with 5 being the best I rate this a solid 4.

SMALL SPIDERS: J. T. Conroe
Book Review by Michael Beas
http://goo.gl/S1879N

Enter a world of the past where government agency’s fight against each other for dominance in the political arena that goes behind the scenes. In this world only the select few know the truth of how the game is played. This is the world that J.T Conroe has created in his novel Small Spiders.

As a reader you will immediately get entangled in this twisted web of lies and deceit that will leave your head spinning and wondering what’s going to happen next. Small Spiders is a great example of how fiction should be written. The Author carefully and meticulously mixes in the main characters with alleged events that transpired during the late 60’s early 70’s.

Small Spiders is a carefully written story of well-known historical figures. Some of those characters include President Richard Nixon, Presidential Candidate George Wallace Arthur Bremer (known as Artie), Dr. William J. (Hypnotherapist), Howard Hunt (CIA Agent) and CBS reporter Michele Clark to name a few. Everything is connected with the secret MKULTRA project that uses behavior control through hypnosis to turn people into assassins.  This is the truth behind the Manchurian Candidate. Nothing is as it seems, no one is safe and the still will make you question how and if this actually happened in America.

It is so well written in my opinion, that during the late night hours I found myself searching the web to see if what J.T Conroe wrote in his novel actually happened in real life. That is exactly what I am looking for when diving into a great Historical Fiction novel.

If you like Ken Follett, Daniel Silva novels this is the book for you. If you like the 2004 Hollywood movie Manchurian Candidate staring Denzel Washington, Live Schreiber, Meryl Streep then this is the book for you.

In closing Small Spiders is an easy read and the pages seem to flow effortlessly to the next. On a scale of 0 – 5 with 5 being the best, this would rate up as a strong 4 to 4.5.

The first few chapters did start off a little slow and the plot took a little long in my opinion to be set in place, but once it did I had to hold on to my seatbelt because the ride left my head spinning. The end took my breath away and left me wanting more of Author J.T Conroe and the Small Spiders.
